Taste of Port Gibson History Tour

2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Enjoy an afternoon of site seeing in Mississippi's third oldest settlement, including the street where Lil Green lived as a child. Port Gibson and Claiborne County have rich Civil War and Civil Rights histories to explore and this tour will give you just enough to make you want to come back for more!

Attendees may also choose to hang out in the gallery, enjoy a film and keep the blues conversation going, or explore the history and hot spots within walking distance on your own. Don't worry, we have plenty of great suggestions!
Register for the Taste of Port Gibson History Tour in advance or onsite until we reach capacity. (Registration link will be posted soon.)

Evening Reception

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Just as the sun starts to set, the Blues will be heating up with a reception fit for a queen in honor of Miss Lil Green, Queen of the Blues! Enjoy the pleasant company of family members, friends and real blues lovers. This year we offered a Student Writing Contest and selected entries will be read during the program. This contest was to introduce young people to the Lil Green legacy, encourage them to think about how music impacts their lives today and hopefully inspire some to pursue their own musical interests.

Finish the evening with a concert featuring the 2021 Governors Award winner Nellie Mack and The Nellie Mack Project! We are honored to have this distinguished lady of the Blues join us in celebrating Lil Green Day!
